Geneva Sullivan Spease, age 81, passed away on Saturday October 16, 2021 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center . She was the daughter of the late Devore Sullivan, Sr. and Ruth Bohannon Sullivan . She was born May 2, 1940 in Davie County . Geneva was a member of Grove AME Zion Church.

She leaves to forever cherish her loving memory three daughters: Teresa (Roger) Dulin , April (William Fulp) Chappell and Stacie Speace ; a brother, Marvin (Genesta) Sullivan; a sister, Kathy Transou; three grandchildren: Crystal Coles, Shanariel Spease and Jadikus Dalton; a godson, Jessie James Dalton who was like a son; a sister-in-law, Nora Ann Sullivan; a lifelong friend, Leroy Chappell and host of other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Miller M. Spease; two brothers, Devore Sullivan, Jr. and Richard Sullivan and a sister, Dorothy Gaither.

The funeral service will be Saturday at New Jerusalem Apostolic Church at 1:30pm with family visitation at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Bethany AME Zion Church Cemetery .
