Gerald Henry Parks, 63, of Old US Hwy 64 East, died Thursday, August 4, 2016, at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center.

The funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00am at Files Chapel Baptist Church with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Sunday from 1-6pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

He was born on January 19, 1953, in Davidson County to Ethel Davis Parks and Pierce Parks. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army and was employed by AB Tech in Asheville. He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Lamont Hargrave Parks and a brother, Timothy Parks.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ethel Davis-Parks; a sister, Norma (Jerry) Partee; a sister-in-law, Bernice Parks; two nieces, Latoya Barber and Timitris Parks; a nephew, Jordan Partee and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
