Rev. Gwendolyn D. Harris, 75, passed on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center.

She was born in Lincolnton, Georgia to Ernest Dye, Sr. and Bertha Lee Leverette Dye on August 23, 1941. She was a faithful member of United Baptist Church, serving on many ministries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jonathan F. Harris and Jeffrey D. Figueroa, Sr.; six brothers: James Booker, Charlie, F.H., Willie, Ernest, Jr. and Ford Dye and three sisters: Ruth Robinson, Priscilla Cooper and Rosie Dulin.

Gwen leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Renee Casado of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren: Juakene Casado, Sheree Casado, Rinald Covington, Jefferey Figueroa, Jr., Jashod Carter, Jalesa Carter Figueroa and Marlia Roberts; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild;three brothers: Wayne Dye, George "Shug" Dye and Cleveland "Weed" Dye and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 12:00 Noon at Files Chapel Baptist Church with family visitation at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
