Mr. Grady Lee Bennett was born February 12, 1947 in Lincolnton, Georgia to Felton Bennett and Ezzie Blackman Bennett. He passed away on March 29, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.


Grady served in the United States Army and worked at Stanley Furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lee Hargrave Bennett; great granddaughter, Summer Rose Bennett; stepdaughter, Carolyn Lomax; step grandchild, Christopher Jones; three brothers: Willie, Jessie and Tommy Bennett and a sister, Lizzie Ann Lockhart.


He leaves to cherish his memory his two children, Victor Bennett and Erica Holmes Hargrave; two step daughters, Sandra Jones and Katherine Williams; six grandchildren: Michelle Bennett, Victrice Bennett, Raven Bennett Gabriel Griffin, Loretta Holmes and Creola Hargrave; eight great grandchildren: Malaysia Thompson, Kamareon, Kamareya, Jerome, Ja'hon Robinson, Dinero Bennett, Darian Bennett and Lola Bennett; four step grandchildren: Donna Jones, Quanta Jones, Jamal Jones, Kiera Jones; a brother, King Allen (Reva) Bennett; a sister, Mary Garnett; two sisters-in-law, Drucilla Bennett and Helen Bennett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Memorial service Thursday at 11:30 am at New Life Worship Center with burial at 1:00pm at Salisbury National Cemetery.
