Mr. Gregory Petty went to be with the Lord from Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Greg, as he was more affectionately called, was born on September 23, 1953 to Ivey Petty, Sr. and Veola Petty. He was raised in the Lexington community prior to moving to High Point. He attended Lexington City Schools.

Greg was a member of Praise Assembly Church Ministries in Kernersville. He retired from Harris Teeter as a forklift operator. In his spare time, he enjoyed preparing chef-like meals, working in his yard, watching cooking shows and spending time with his grandkids. He and his wife, Eulah, appreciated good jazz music and attended many festivals and concerts.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers, Shelly Miles Petty and Charles Dean Petty.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 27 years, Eulah Lanier Petty; a stepson, Franklin (Dottie) Lanier of Maplewood, Minnesota; a daughter, Tomeka (Kenneth, Jr.) Harris of Burlington; his brother, Ivey Petty, Jr., of Winston-Salem; sisters, Vinnie Garland and Carolyn Jordan both of Lexington and a very special nephew, Richard Todd Harris of Winston-Salem.

He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Destin Burton, Kayla Harris, Jasmine Harris, Bryanna Lanier, Gabriel Lanier, Madison Lanier, Adam Lanier, Titus Lanier and Simeon Lanier; and great grandchildren: Mossiah Evans, Malikki Evans and Mansa Evans. There will be many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss Greg dearly.

Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
