Harriet Elizabeth Saunders was called to her eternal home on July 5, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Harriet was born September 25, 1956 in Lexington, North Carolina to George and Edwina Saunders. She attended Lexington City Schools and was a life-long member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Harriet was formerly employed by the Brian Center for many years and was last employed by Sun Bridge Nursing Home.

Harriet was preceded in death by her father, George "Bobby" Saunders, her mother, Edwina L. Saunders and two brothers, Horace Shawn Saunders, Sr. and Engel Charles Saunders.

Harriet has left to cherish her loving memory three children: Bobbette Nicole Saunders (Travis) of Lexington, Adrian Saunders (LaTesha) of Charlotte, NC and Ashley Saunders (Ariel) of Lexington; seven grand-children; her stepmother, Betty Saunders of Charlotte; two brothers, George Saunders of Lexington and William Saunders of Charlotte; three sisters: Donna S. Owens of Lexington, Melanie Colson (Donald) and Bobbi Saunders of Charlotte and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who were close to her heart.

Funeral service will be Thursday at St. Stephen United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm with family visitation at 12:30. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
