There is a comforting thought at the close of the day, it is that our lives are richer and blessed to have known Harriet Janet White. Harriet was born December 16, 1966 and had a sweet spirit. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Lee White and Stella Irene Payne White. Harriet was called to her Eternal home on Sunday, March 12, 2023. We are thankful for the years we shared her life. She will live in our hearts eternally.
Educated in the Rowan County, North Carolina public schools in her early years, Harriet graduated from the Wake County public school system, Wake County, North Carolina. She was formerly employed with Young & Henkle with her last employment being Unique Home Care Services, Inc..
A believer, Harriet often attended Harvest Community Church, Cooleemee, North Carolina where she served on the Hospitality Committee. Harriet loved her family and enjoyed entertaining the family by being the family comedian. To say she spoiled her nieces and nephews is an understatement, for she adored them. Her hobbies included traveling, being the community Uber driver, cooking and baking. She was well known for frying hot fish at all family functions.
Harriet was preceded in death by a daughter, Tyra Jeanette White; special uncle and aunt, Glen and Ethel Payne; paternal grandparents, Will and Frankie White; maternal grandparents, Delost and Savannah Payne; three sisters: Geraldine Cuthbertson, Brenda Williams and Shirley Gray; and her beloved furr baby, Coco.
Her beautiful smile, helping hands and warm demeanor will be remembered and cherished by seven sisters: Janice Davis, Vivian (Warren) Richardson and Darlene White, all of High Point, North Carolina, Earnestine ( Gary) Harding and Frances (Perry) James, both of Mocksville, North Carolina, Marilyn (Johnny) Rice of Cooleemee, North Carolina and Charlene Smith of Durham, North Carolina; two brothers, Michael (Selvia) White of Lexington, North Carolina and Robert (Earnestine) White of Spartanburg, South Carolina; brothers-in-law, William Cuthbertson and Robert Gray; best friends, Minister Thomasine Stevenson and E'Stella McClain; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be conducted 3:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church, 160 Midway Street, Cooleemee, NC with visitation at 2:00 PM prior to service time. Public viewing will be held, Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Roberts Chapel- Mocksville, from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
