Harrison Edward Joyner, 75, transitioned from this life to life eternal on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
Harrison, affectionately known as "Brownie," as well as "Ice Cream Man" was born to the late Frank and Lillian Tucker Joyner in Forsyth County, North Carolina.
He received his formal education from the local Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System.
During his Christian journey, he was a member of Greater St. Luke Apostolic Church.Harrison was also employed with Reedy's Air Conditioning and Heating where he also retired.He was a ham operator, NASCAR fan, loved fishing, hunting, gardening and being a backyard mechanic.Harrison was a member of the Forsyth Amateur Radio Club W4NC."Brownie" will be missed by all who loved and knew him.Though he is no longer with us, his memory we will cherish in our hearts.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Robert and Frank Joyner; sister, Willie Mae Hall.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife of 56 years, Katherine D. Joyner of the home; daughter, Joy (Joseph, Sr.) Ashe; son, Gene (Joyce) Newell; three-grandchildren: Gene Newell, Jr., Joshua Newell, Sr., Joseph Ashe, Jr.; two great-grandchildren: Joshua Newell, Jr., and Eve Newell; sister, Faye Little; four brothers: Arthur (Edith) Joyner, Dennis (Jacqueline) Joyner, David (Shirley) Joyner, Terry Joyner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted family: Willie Mae Floyd, Juanita Williams, Christine Van Eaton, Joe Evans, Ray Moore and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Greater St. Luke Apostolic Church, 4051 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC. Family visitation begins at 12 noon.Public viewing will be Wednesday, October 4, 2017, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Service, Winston-Salem.The family will receive friends Thursday,
