IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry
Cleveland
May 30, 1940 – August 13, 2023
Our dearly beloved, Henry Junior "Mr. Clean" Cleveland, Sr., entered eternal rest Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury, North Carolina. He was born May 30, 1940 in Anderson, South Carolina and was the son of the late Herman and Louise Kemp Cleveland. Henry had a warm, kind demeanor and enjoyed making people smile. His presence is no longer of this earth, but the many shared memories will be everlasting.
"Mr. Clean," as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Davie County public schools and graduated from Davie High School, Mocksville, North Carolina. He retired after many years of dedicated service from Fiber Celanese.
A true believer, Henry was a member of the former Fairfield Baptist Church, now Harvest United Fellowship in Mocksville, North Carolina. He was a member of the Deacon Board, Trustee Board, the Male Chorus and Usher Board. Other sources of enjoyment included spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle . He was always willing to lend a helping hand; if you needed something done, "Mr. Clean" was the one to call.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Henry J. Cleveland, Jr.; two daughters, Regina Cleveland and Penny L. Keaton.; two brothers, Gordon Herman and Michael Cleveland; and two sisters, Annie Lee Arnold and Diann Roberts.
Henry and Alice were a devoted couple who celebrated over fifty years of marriage.
Our family is thankful for the many years we shared Henry's life. As we say good-bye, we are comforted in knowing he now rests in the Arms of Our Savior. Survivors who will forever treasure his memory are his wife, Alice G. Cleveland of Woodleaf; son, Billy Joe Cleveland of Lexington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrie Cleveland of Salisbury; a brother, Erick Cleveland of Salisbury; an aunt, Betty Ruth (Willie) Clement of Mocksville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Harvest United Fellowship Church, Mocksville, NC with visitation at 12:30 PM prior to service time. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM- 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
