Obituary

Mr. Hershel Lee, 92, of Booker Ave., passed Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center.

Funeral service will be Friday at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church on Village Dr. with visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Thursday from 1-8pm at the funeral home.

He was born in Anderson, SC on April 26, 1922 to Edget Lee and Fannie Mae Williams Lee.He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Village Dr. where he served on the Deacon Board, Day Care Board, Men's Choir, Mass Choir, Trustee Board and was church treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary E. Lee; a grandson, Anthony B. Lee and five siblings: Aaron, Nora, Jesse, Ellmina Lee and Katherine Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Martha Lee Craven "Hebrew Israelite" of Atlanta, Ga and Hattie (Lewis) McLendon of Lexington; four grandchildren, Ronda K. Lee, Jacqueline E. Lee both of Atlanta, Charity Saddler of Kannapolis and Shonta King of Garner; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
