Ida Irene Smith Pickett was born June 17, 1932 in Lexington, North Carolina to the late John Odell Smith and Frankie Holmes Smith.

Irene was a lifetime member of Southmont First Baptist Church in Lexington where she attended faithfully until her health declined. In her early years, she served with the Culinary Ministry.

Irene was preceded in death by a son, Johnny L. Pickett and her sister Fannie Smith Hines.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving son, Robert Pickett, Jr. (Lori) of Lexington, NC who devotedly cared for her; three grandchildren; Lindsay, Hargrave and Miller cousins and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Southmont at 2:00pm with family visitation at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
