Ms. India Nichols, 65, of Jim Bell Rd., died on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00p.m. at First Baptist Church on Village Dr. with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.
India was born August 19, 1950 in Davidson County to Louis Lee Nichols and Helen Gooden Nichols. She graduated from Lexington Senior High School and North Carolina A & T State University. She served in the United States Army, retired from W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center and worked for Home Healthcare. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and served on the Usher ministry was a part of the Seniors Ministry and the Health Guild. She was preceded in death by her father.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Helen G. Nichols; her twin daughters, Charlotte R. Nichols and Charlene R. Nichols; two granddaughters, Amber Nichols and Briana Nichols; a sister, Ramona (Michael) Parrish; an uncle, Roger (Janie) Nichols; three aunts; Pauline Hargrave, Earnestine Brown and Inez Shaw; nephews Kellen (Denise) and Louis Parrish, niece Kenya Parrish, great nephews Jalen and Lawson Parrish and a host of other relatives and friends.
