James Edward Benjamin, 61, of East 27th street, entered eternal rest on February 28, 2022 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1960 to Robert Benjamin and Alice Woods Benjamin in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

James, affectionately known as "Peanut", grew up in Winston-Salem and attended Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools.

James would find work with a Retirement Center as a custodian.

In addition to his parents, Robert Benjamin and Alice Woods Benjamin, he was preceded in death by his son, Leon Benjamin; Bernice Benjamin Burroughs.

His memory will be cherished by his stepmother, Janet Benjamin; his siblings: Beatrice Woods Benjamin of Lamar, SC, Robette Benjamin, Annette Marie Jones (Al), Ernest Leon Benjamin of Greensboro, NC, James "Jr." Benjamin (Clara) of Winston-Salem and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem). In every effort to protect our client families, sanitizing, facial coverings and or masks are required for the service.
