James Edward Brown was born on September 30, 1944 to Clifton and Sophia Brown in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. James Edward Brown exchanged time for eternal rest on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

He was employed by Pilot Freight Carriers as a Supply Chain Logistics Specialist for over 20 years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed cooking, fishing, car and motorcycle racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Brown and Sophia Brown.

He is survived by children, Edward Vannard Valentine, Sr. (Synthi'a Penn) of Mocksville, NC; Jamie Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; Jarmaine Brown of High Point, NC and Tramaine Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren: Sherita Valentine, Misha Salley, Edward Valentine, Jr., Aubrey' Valentine, Jamora Crawford, Jamari Crawford and Landon Nolen; four bonus grandchildren; three sisters he idolized and loved immensely: Jeanne (Sam) Couthen of Flower Mound, TX, Shirley Spencer and Brenda Peay both of Winston-Salem, NC; nine great-grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews; and his best friend, Misha Salley who was only a telephone call away even on his sickest days.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem).
