James Kennith Hargrove, 64, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, slipped away from this earthly life on Sunday, May 11, 2025 while in the comfort of his home, surrounded by those who loved him dearly. His life journey began on July 21, 1960 in Henderson, North Carolina when his parents, James Thomas Hargrove and Ella Beatrice Spruill welcomed him into this world.
James received his formal education from the local school system. During his time of employment, he was employed with Champion Industries as a Computer Technician.
In his downtime, James loved the relaxation and the tranquility of fishing; it was nothing for him to pull that grill out and fire it up. James enjoyed playing softball when time would permit. Sports ran through his blood and he loved watching all sports, especially his teams, Duke and Dallas! His greatest joy and love was hanging with his girls, his granddaughters.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Alice Gibert Hargrove; three children: James Hargrove, II, Sharmeka Guess and Micahel Guess; grandchildren: Jayonna Guess, Jaylene Lewis, Journei Lewis, King Hicks, MaKiylah, Michael, Jr., Maunize, Jalayla and Melani Guess; his siblings: Charlie Floyd (Casandra) of Kernersville, NC, Jeffery Jones of Richmond, VA, Keith Floyd (Tonya) of Winston-Salem, NC, Charles Floyd (Kim) of Stanleyville, NC, Dennis and Donal Floyd of Winston-Salem, NC, Christ Burton; three aunts, one uncle; his in-laws: James and Mattie Gibert, Hattie Smith, Alvin Gibert and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of life services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church with visitation at 10:30 AM. Public viewing will be Friday, May 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
