James William Davis, Sr., 71, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina transitioned from the earthly life into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

James was born October 28, 1947 to Williams Davis, Jr. and Mary Watkins in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

He received his formal education from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public School System.James was employed with the City of Winston-Salem as a Sanitation Worker.He was of the Christian faith.

Those preceding him in death were his parents; son, James W. Davis, Jr. and his brother, Dwayne Henry Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jermaine T. Davis; daughter, Charlina Davis; two brothers: Jerry Davis, David Davis; three sisters: Patricia Ann Davis, Octavia House, Estelle Davis; devoted friend and mother of the children, Virginia A. Chandler; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from the chapel of Roberts Funeral Service.Moments of visitation will be held at 2:30 P.M. prior to the service and at other times the family may contacted at the home of his daughter, Charlina at 563 Denny Drive, Winston-Salem.
