Mrs. Janette B. Lawter, 71, W. Center St. Ext., died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Accordius Health at Lexington.

She was born in Montgomery County to Terrell Montgomery Bean and Pauline K. Bean on February 7, 1948. She was a former employee of Roses Discount Store. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Lawter, Sr.

Surviving are her son, Douglas Wayne Lawter of the home; adopted family members Larry and Donna Baker of Lexington and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Monday at 2:00pm at Freedom Baptist Church, where she was a member, by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
