Jay Elworth Partee, 94, of Elvernia Ave., passed on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at his residence.

The funeral service will be Friday at 11:30 A.M. at Ezekiel AME Zion Church with visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.

He was born on March 28, 1921, in Iredell County to Octavia Partee. He was a member of Ezekiel AME Zion Church and served in the United States Army and Air Force. He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife, Mamie L. Partee and a son, Jay Partee.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne Scott-Partee; three sons, Toy Partee, Ted Partee and Don Partee; three daughters, Octavia Partee Huling, Faye Partee and Nora Partee; a step son, Michael E. Scott; step-daughter, Columbia M. Scott; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
