On Friday, August 28, 2026, Jerome Barnard Shaw, II, affectionately known as "Jerry," transitioned peacefully into his heavenly rest. Jerome was born on August 2, 1972, in Forsyth County, North Carolina, to the late Jerome Bernard Stover and Cora Ethalene Wansley Stover.
He was educated in the Forsyth County Public School System and graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School, where he became a standout member of both the junior varsity and varsity football teams.
Jerry loved driving dump trucks, cooking on the grill, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He spread love and joy everywhere he went. Known as the life of the party, Jerry was the "hype man" at every family gathering and had a special way of bringing energy and laughter wherever he was. Throughout his life, he was also a dedicated co-owner of Gravel Works alongside his wife and son.
Jerry was a member of Baux Mountain Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Collins. He loved the Lord and served Him with gladness. His loving and kind spirit will forever be remembered by those he loved and by the many people who loved him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his brother, Morris Shaw Jr.; his sister, Glenda Smith; and his son-in-law, Reginald Austin.
Jerry leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving wife, Nakasha Shaw; seven daughters, Aundrana Shaw of Winston-Salem, NC, Jessica Gray (Ethan), Ashley Eatmon, and Jabriya Shaw, all of Greensboro, NC, and Sherrie Lewis, Kolina Austin, and Luticia Smith, all of Columbia, SC; three sons, Jerome Shaw III and Antonio Pledger, both of Winston-Salem, NC, and Christopher Parker of Wilson, NC; one godson, Michael Lewis of Columbia, SC; one sister, Cora Rebecca Wansley of Salisbury, NC; one sister-in-law, Keosha Parker of Wilson, NC; four brothers-in-law, Charles Parker, Jesse Whitaker, and Antonio Britt, all of Wilson, NC, and James Smith of Atlanta, GA and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, god-grandchildren, and other relatives; two best friends, Liger Boswell (Stephanie) and Charles Cheeks; and other very special friends, Michael Cheeks, Benny Boswell, Millard Smith, Brandon Smith, Andrea Pledger, Lavette Fletcher, Hansumm Macoy, and Lawon Davis.
Jerry's love, laughter, and joyful spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
