Jerry Lee Hairston, Jr., affectionately known as "Peanut," was born to Susan Pierce and the late Jerry Lee Hairston, Sr. on June 6, 1982 in Winston-Salem, NC. He passed away on November 4, 2023.

Jerry attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public Schools. He worked in the service and restaurant industries including K&W Cafeteria.
Jerry was passionate about and loved his family. He dearly loved his Islamic faith as well as his community. When it came to helping a friend or someone, you only had to ask once.

Jerry's life will forever be cherished in the lives of his mother, Susan Pierce Sherrard of Hallsboro, NC; his son, Qur'an Justice Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Morgan Neresa Hairston of Hallsboro, NC and Jerolyn Denise Magwood (Karl) of New Bern, NC; stepchildren, Alexis Chariesse Hague and Aloni Chariesse Oakes of Winston-Salem, NC; uncle, Clifford Odell Pierce (Jaqueline) of Jacksonville, Fl; aunts: Johnnie Mae Barksdale of Winston-Salem, NC, Tonie Lanphere (Michael) Of Anniston, AL, and Loretta T. Bailey of Port Saint Lucie, FL; nieces and nephews: Robert Magwood, Karvin Magwood, Kennedi Magwood of New Bern, NC, and Josiah McKoy of Hallsboro, NC; loving cousins Jamie Barksdale and Connie Draft; God niece, La'Tayia Rice of Winston-Salem, NC; special companion, Maranda C. Oakes of Winston-Salem, NC; special friend, Crystal "Shine" Damon of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at First Calvary Baptist Church with visitation at 3:30 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will take place privately. Public viewing will be Friday, November 10, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
