Jewel Meedonell Glover Kirk was born on November 11, 1925 to the late Merritt and Marina Glover in Siler City, N.C. She married George C. Kirk, Jr. and had four children.


She attended Dunbar in the Lexington City School System. She was employed by PPG Industries in Lexington. She loved reading the Bible and attending Sunday School.


She was preceded in death by her husband George C. Kirk, Jr. and her 9 siblings: Hilda Mae Mendenhall, Ida Dorsett, Mary Glover, Marie Glover, Fletcher Glover, JC Glover, Rev. Shelly Glover, June Glover and George Glover.


She is survived by her children: Fontaine Kirk Graham (James), George C. Kirk, III, Justin Kirk (Claudia) and Kenneth Kirk; five grandchildren: Mario Kirk (Catie), Keith Kirk, Kim Kirk, Alana Kirk and Kennedy Kirk; two great grandchildren, Landon Kirk and Theo Kirk and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
