Jimmy Lee
Elliott
Dec 16, 1941 — Jun 7, 2026
Huntersville
Jimmy Lee Elliott, 84, peacefully departed this life on June 7, 2026 while a patient at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center in Huntersville, North Carolina. Born on December 16, 1941 to the late I. W. Elliott and the late Annie R. Elliott, Jimmy lived a life defined by hard work, determination and a love for family, friends and the simple joys of life.
A dedicated entrepreneur, Jimmy was the proud owner of SpeeDee Oil Change & Tune Up, where he built a reputation for providing quality service and establishing lasting relationships with customers and members of the community. Through his business, he demonstrated the values of perseverance, integrity and commitment that characterized his life.
When he was not working, Jimmy enjoyed spending time doing the things he loved most. He was an avid player of card games and found great enjoyment in friendly competition and fellowship with family and friends, especially with his friends within the Sage community. He loved watching television, especially westerns, Judge Judy and animal programs, often spending hours captivated by the stories and lessons they offered.
Jimmy was also a passionate sports fan who faithfully cheered for his favorite teams. Whether it was football, basketball, baseball, golf and tennis or any exciting matchup, he could always be found supporting the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Pelicans, his beloved Chicago Bears and especially his cherished Chicago Bulls. His enthusiasm for sports was contagious and often brought family and friends together to share in the excitement of the game.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lydia L. Elliott, and three brothers: Sell Elliott, Osby Abdullah and Derrick Elliott.
Jimmy will be remembered for his entrepreneurial spirit, his love of sports and entertainment and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His life touched many, and his legacy will continue to live on through the family, friends and community members who were blessed by his presence.
Above all, Jimmy treasured his family. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters, Sheila Elliott Brock of Concord, North Carolina and Joslyn (LeDerick) Blackburn of Harrisburg, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Julian Elliott, Taylor Brock, Kaylyn Brock, Drea Blackburn and Donovan Blackburn; two great-grandchildren, Shemar Elliott and Jewelz Elliott; a brother, Eddie Elliott of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Decota Wilmington of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we celebrate a life well lived and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
