John A. "Bub" Kilgore, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Lexington Health Care. He was born on July 12, 1943, in Walton County, Georgia, to the late Calvin Kilgore and Mary D. Kilgore.

Bub was last employed with Young and Hinkle Furniture, where he dedicated many years of hard work. He was a man of faith, of the Baptist denomination, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Loganville, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Kilgore.

Bub leaves to cherish his loving memory his son, John B. Kilgore; four daughters, Wanda Hargrave Wood, Robin (Cleveland) Kilgore-Dye, Prisilla (Elmore) Townsend Foster, and Rosetta (Raymond) Towsend Young; a devoted sister, Mary Ann (Bobby) Richards; sister-in-law, Joyce Kilgore; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The homegoing service will be held Friday at Union Baptist Church, with family visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. and the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in South Lexington City Cemetery.
