Mr. John Earl Marsh of Thomasville, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Hinkle Hospice House.
Born on February 27, 1951 in Union County, North Carolina, John was the son of the late James W. Marsh and Dorothy Mae Ashcraft Marsh. He was a proud graduate of Lexington Senior High School, Class of 1969, and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
John was a faithful member of New Birth Worship Center where he served diligently on the Deacon Board. He was also a member of the Male Choir, an usher and a Sunday School teacher. His commitment to his faith, church and community reflected his servant's heart and devotion to God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Lee Massey, James Marsh, Lonnie Marsh and Kenneth Marsh.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Josie O. Marsh; one son, Leon Marsh; three daughters: Portia M. Feaster, Jill L. Marsh and Latoya Marsh; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Billy Joe Marsh (Patricia) and Larry D. Marsh (Rhonda); two sisters, Kathy Robinson and Angela Marsh; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Downey (Jim) and Carmen Oliver; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
John will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family and church, and the love and kindness he shared with all who knew him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
