Joseph "Bud" Holmes of Fairview Drive was called home Tuesday March 17, 2015 at the age of 95.

The celebration of life service will be held Monday at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church on Village Drive with family visitation at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Military Honors.

Public viewing will be Sunday from 1:00pm-6:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

He was born December 24, 1919 in Davidson County to the late Lee Thomas Holmes and Ophelia Tillman Holmes. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Manuel Holmes, Thomas Bryce Holmes, Willard Holmes and Hulin Holmes and two sisters, Mildred Holmes Michael and Elizabeth Holmes Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years, Mary Melvena Reid Holmes; seven children: Bobby Joe Ricks, Delilah Benjamin, Gary (Jennifer) Mock, Bryce (Priscilla) Holmes, Melaine Reeves, Joann Holmes and Anthony (Debra) Holmes; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Eugene "Bubby" Holmes; three sisters, Bettie "Tootsie" (John "Woody") Neely, Eugenia "Pat" Hargrave, Margaret "Mott" Winton, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
