Juan Jose Mussen gave up time for Eternity, Friday, August 7, 2026 while a patient at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born January 26, 1968 in Torreon, Mexico, he was the son of the late Eugenio Alberto Mussen and Antonia Valerio Mares. Juan was fun-loving, charismatic and always enjoyed a lively conversation with family and friends. His journey on earth is over, but his memory will remain in our hearts forever.

He was educated and graduated from high school in New Hampshire and was employed as a Slitter Operator with Avgol for several years until his health began to decline. Juan served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was an avid football fan, and his favorite team was the Carolina Panthers.

As we mourn his passing, Juan's family and friends will treasure his life and give thanks for the memories. Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Young Mussen of the home; three sons: Jeremy (Kelly) Young of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Tyler Mussen and Jesse Clifton, both of Mocksville, North Carolina; three daughters: Antonia Mussen and Brianna Mussen, both of Mocksville, North Carolina and Aaliyah (Cody) Jones of Linwood, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Eugenio Mussen of Hickory, North Carolina and Matt Mussen of New Hampshire; three sisters: Sarah Mussen of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Virginia Mussen of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Adrian Mussen of Kernesville, North Carolina; mother-in-law, Linda Blackwell; two sisters-in-law, Linda Young and Eunice (Richard) Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Juan Mussen will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Erwin Temple Fellowship Hall. The family is asking everyone to wear either Carolina Panther or Duke University attire.

In lieu of floral expressions, the family is asking that all monetary donations be given to Mrs. Carolyn Mussen at the celebration on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
