Obituary

Judy Darlene Dalton Williamson was born in Iredell County on December 22, 1953, to the late Barney Lee and Effie Mae Dalton. She departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Bermuda Commons surrounded by her family.

Judy graduated from North Iredell High School and attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She worked many years in home healthcare.

Judy was an avid reader who found great joy in visiting the local library. She also enjoyed word games of all varieties. Judy was our beloved family historian. She had an incredible memory and loving heart, always remembering everyone's birthday and age. We will deeply miss Judy's early morning call, always the first to wish us a happy birthday.

Although she had no children of her own, Judy adored her nieces and nephews, always staying actively connected to their lives. Judy's daily calls to her siblings were a testament to her love and devotion. Her thoughtful presence and constant connection will be deeply missed.

Judy became a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age. While a member at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Judy was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School to the little ones. After relocating to Mocksville, Judy attended Trinity Baptist Church where cherished friendships were made.

Judy was married to the late Calvin Williamson who proceeds her in death. In addition to Calvin, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Abby Redmond and Sallie Ann Morrison and two brothers, Robert "Sonny" Dalton and Jimmy Lee Dalton.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, four sisters, Dorothy Lackey of Statesville, Martha Clement of Mocksville, Marcella (William) James of Olin and Mary (Ray) Campbell of Greensboro; three brothers, Johnny (Estella) Dalton of Harmony, Renard (Diane) Dalton of Statesville and William (Brenda) Dalton of Hamptonville; a sister-in-law, Audrey Dalton; a brother-in-law, David Redmond; two aunts, Lila Dalton of Statesville and Ruth Dalton of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
