Justin Maurice Wallace, age 52, was born October 18, 1972 in Rowan County, North Carolina. He was the son of John M. and Cordia Davis Wallace. He departed his earthly life February 16, 2025 at the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Maurice, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Chesterfield County, Virginia, graduating from Thomas Dale High School, Chester, Virginia. After high school, Maurice continued his studies at Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice. Maurice worked for over 30 years in the Child Protection Services field. Maurice was a former member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Mocksville, North Carolina.

Known for his expert fishing skills, Maurice enjoyed fishing, going to the gun range, gardening, being on the water and enjoying outdoor life, especially camping.

He was preceded in death by grandparents: Howard J. Wallace, Nora Redmon Wallace, O.B. Davis and Alberta Stevenson Davis; two uncles, William Summers and Dr. John Davis; and a cousin, Natama Aivinhenvo.

Maurice was fun-loving and always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellowman. His memory will forever be cherished by his parents, John M. and Cordia Davis Wallace of Concord, North Carolina; a loving and devoted partner, Sara Ray of Tobaccoville, North Carolina; two daughters, Mariyah Wallace and Zariah Wallace; two sons, Jayden Benge and Ethan Benge; a brother, John Michael (Nancy) Wallace II of Richmond, Virginia; a nephew, John Michael Wallace III; three nieces: Corrine Long, Ainsley Long and Gabrielle Wallace; four aunts: Jessie Summers, Patricia (Ralph) Dalton, Dr. Katheryn Davis and Alice (Thomas) Davis-Johnson; an uncle, Thomas (Edwina) Davis; and a host of cousins and friends.


Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Roberts Funeral Service (Mocksville). A private family gathering will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home in Mocksville, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to the GoFundMe established for his children, or to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC that was so dear to his heart.
