Obituary

Kedrick Denard Glenn was born on February 26, 1989 to Ms. Frankie Glenn and reared by Ms. Stephanie Shuler Golden and Henry Rawlinson in Winston -Salem, North Carolina. On Monday April 29, 2019 God decided that He needed one more drummer and He called Kedrick home.

Kedrick was a God-fearing young man who would often go astray. On February 27, 2016, Kedrick redirected his life to the Lord.

Kedrick was educated in the Winston -Salem/Forsyth County School System until his departure to attend Job Corp.

Kedrick was a talented drummer who was blessed to have learned how to play both traditional African drums and a drum kit.Jermaine Marlin taught him how to play the drum kit at the age of five. The very next year The Healing Force, founded by Baba Joseph Anderson and the late Mama Gail Anderson, taught Kedrick the ways of traditional African drums.

Kedrick became a full time musician at Calvary Hill Church of Greater Deliverance from the age of eight until the age of twelve. At that time, his grandfather, the late Bishop Ricky A. Pouncey, became the pastor of Judah Praise and Worship Center and Kedrick became the sole musician. Throughout the years, he became obsessed with marching bands, more specifically drum lines. He met many friends who became brothers during his time visiting the Winston Lake YMCA, the practice facility of the Boss Drummers.

A special thank you to the following musicians who helped cultivate the gift in him: Joe Cornell, Eric Turner, Stanley Dove and David Allen; his peers and brothers- in- music,:Charleston "Chuck" DuBose, Thomas Atwater, Jr., Johnnyke DuBose, Carl Moore, Chris Wilson, Curt Wilson, and Roderick Wellborn.

Kedrick was preceded in death by his uncle, Gerald D. Glenn; grandmother, Betty Ann Huntley; and his grandfather, Bishop Ricky A. Pouncey on April 16, 2019.

Kedrick leaves to cherish his precious memories his mothers, Frankie Glenn and Stephanie S. Golden; sisters: Precious Bailey, Tequila Huntley, Trenae Bray, Katisha Shuler, Shalane Weaver, Christina Martin; two brothers: Dwayne Weaver and Christopher Martin; maternal grandfather, Frank Huntley, maternal grandmother, Barbara Pouncey and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
