Kenneth E. McCandies, Jr. of Jamestown, NC, beckoned the voice of the Lord on Monday, October 18, 2021 from labor to reward at Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center, Winston Salem, N.C. He was born September 15, 1973 in Lexington, NC to Kenneth E. McCandies, Sr. and the late Patricia Ann McCauley.
Kenneth enjoyed watching sports, especially football. He had an affinity for everything Carolina; UNC-Chapel Hill Tarheels and Carolina Panthers were his favorites, whether they were winning or not. He enjoyed spending time with the family, laughing and joking, celebrating holidays, birthdays and having cookouts at the park. Kenneth absolutely loved being a truck driver. He often shared the stories of his travels with family and friends.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing and playing the drums. He worked as a truck driver with United Furniture until his health declined.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricica Ann McCauley and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and dedicated wife, Marilyn Webb-McCandies; two daughters, Deja R. Webb & Kenya McCandies; one grandchild, Kendaiya Brady; two sisters, Doris McCauley and Helen McCauley; three brothers: William McCauley, Philip McCandies and Patrick (Whitney) McCandies; his father, Kenneth E. (Eilene) McCandies, Sr.; sister- in-law, Andrea C. Webb Smith Lamberth (Marvin); his adored and loving mother-in-law, Rachel Hoover Webb who he affectionately called "Ma Rachel;" nephews: Donavon McCauley, Tristan Smith, Shantae McCauley, Jaden McCandies, Malachi McCandies, Carter Hayes, Jacen McCandies, Elijah McCauley and Grayson Smith; nieces: Vatai Smith (Mark) , Mahlia Pollock and Zhori McCandies; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Baptist Church.
