Kenneth H. Talbert, Sr., 87, was born February 21, 1936 to General and Alberta Talbert. He passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.

Kenneth attended Dunbar High School. He joined the United States Air Force and after 10 years of service, enlisted in the United States Navy and retired after a total of 37 years. While in service, he traveled to various countries. After his military retirement, he worked numerous jobs and retired from Lexington Industries.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred Shankle Talbert; grandson, Clifford Talbert; two brothers, General Wayne Talbert and Don Re Talbert and two sisters, Evelyn T. Roberts and Dorothy Rose Talbert.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Kenneth Talbert, II and Warren (Jo Marie) Talbert of Jeanerette, LA; a daughter, Shelia Talbert of California; two brothers, Paul (Betty Jean) Talbert, Sr. and Dwight Talbert, Sr. both of Lexington; four sisters: Kiwana Talbert Crump, Brenda Talbert both of Lexington, Irma Talbert of Greensboro and Norma Talbert of Lexington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel with family visitation at 10:30am. Burial will be Tuesday at Salisbury National Cemetery at 11:00am.
