Lannie Morrison, a compassionate soul whose kindness knew no bounds, passed away on March 18, at the age of 83. She leaves behind a legacy of love, understanding and unwavering support for those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lannie was born on September 17, 1941 to Liston Sellers, Sr. and Josephine Bethea Sellers. She had six brothers: Clarence Sellers, Elia Sellers, Wallace Sellers, Liston Sellers, Neal Sellers and James Sellers and two sisters, Elouise Pittman Page and Annie Ruth Sellers. Lannie is the youngest of all her siblings.
After spending a while in the Dillon County School District, Lannie found herself as the caregiver for her ailing parents. Lannie had several jobs throughout her lifetime. Her last recorded job was located at Winston-Salem State University, where she worked as a member of the kitchen staff.
She met and married William F. Morrison, Sr., in 1960. This union produced three children: William F. Morrison, Jr., Zelma Morrsion and Carvin "Tyrone" Morrison. Zelma married Stephone D. Samuels, Sr. in 1988 and blessed Lannie with three grandchildren: Stephone D. Samuels, Jr., Christiana M. Samuels and Gloria M. Samuels. Gloria married William Price and presented Lannie with three great-grandchildren: Malakhi N. Samuels, Myracle T. Price and Musiq D. Price. Twins were born to Stephone D. Samuels, Jr., Camilla G. Samuels (deceased) and Cali F. Samuels.
Lannie's life was a testament to the power of empathy. She dedicated herself to her walk with God and always put others before herself. She strived to make the world a better place. From her closest family members to complete strangers, she made an impact that will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at St. Peter's World Outreach with visitation at 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Guil-Rand Memorial and Cemetery, High Point, North Carolina. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
