Obituary

Laura Annie Jones Barnes, daughter of Will Coleman Jones and Mary Walker Jones, was born July 9, 1928, in Davie County. She entered into eternal rest November 3, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral service will be Monday at 1:00pm at Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be Sunday from 1:00pm -6:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Service.

Mrs. Annie was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church and retired from Dixie Furniture. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Barnes; four brothers, Daniel, Hollis, Ulysess and Marcellus Jones and four sisters, Jessie J. Dalton, Sara J. Brown, Virginia J. Lanier and Pauline J. Hoover.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Robert (Mary) Barnes of Syracuse, NY; three daughters, Coleen Curry of Thomasville, Sandra B. Davis and Wendy B. (James) Bobo both of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe (Bessie) Jones; three sisters, Pearl J. Roberts, Elizabeth J. Jackson and Peggy J. Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Jones and Bertha Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
