On Sunday, June 21, 2026, our Heavenly Father gently called His faithful servant, Mrs. LaVerne Leonard Eller, from labor to reward. Surrounded by God's grace and mercy, she enteredeternal rest at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

LaVerne was born on December 1, 1955, in Davidson County to the late William Leonard and Louise Hayes Leonard. From an early age, she was blessed with a loving spirit, a heart for service and an unwavering faith in God that would guide her throughout her life.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, LaVerne lived her life as a reflection of Christ's love. She retired from North Davidson Middle School after years of faithful service and dedication.

As a faithful member of Sweet Holy Spirit Family Worship Cathedral, LaVerne worked diligently in the vineyard of the Lord. She served as a deaconess, lifted her voice in praise as a member of the Praise Team and faithfully supported the ministry through the Pastor's Aide. Her worship was sincere, her faith was steadfast and her life was a testimony of God's goodness and grace.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her brother, Willie Ray Leonard; and her sister, Anna Leonard. Though their earthly journeys ended before hers, they now rejoice together in the presence of the Lord.

Cherishing her beautiful legacy and precious memories are her devoted husband, Kenneth Eller; her son, Kenneth S. Eller (Rhonda); her daughters, LaToya Pike and LaTasha Eller; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sandra Leonard and Lisa Lamison; her mother-in-law, Hazel Eller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, special friends and loved ones.

While our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that LaVerne's race has been run, her work is complete and her faith has become sight. She has exchanged the cares of this world for the peace of God's eternal kingdom. Her gentle spirit, loving heart and unwavering devotion to Christ will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
