Leonardo Lopez Martinez, age 61, of Mocksville, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center, surrounded by his love ones. Born on, November 6, 1963 in Santiago Tetepec, Mexico, Leonardo was the proud son of Julio Lopez and Marcelina Martinez. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He attended the public schools in Santiago Tetepec, Mexico. He dedicated his life to be a self-employed carpenter, always working hard to provide for his family and to uplift those around him. Leonardo was known for his warm smile, generous heart and the way he could make everyone feel at home, especially when sharing a good meal, laughter and stories from the past.

Leonardo is survived by his wife, Emelie Ruano Julian; children: Luis Leonardo Lopez Ruano, Yesenia Lopez Ruano, Gabriela Lopez Ruano and Franco Darvelio Lopez Ruano; grandchildren: Giovanny Hernadez, Jasmine Hernandez, Jair Hernandez, Bryan Lopez, Leah Lopez, Ximena Lopez, Emely Gabriela Lopez, Yavani Echeverria, Yoshi Echeverria, Yalitza Echeverria, Yaretzi Echeverria, Alexander Mujica and Aria Lopez; siblings: Hortencia Lopez, Bricia Lopez, Paula Lopez, Martina Lopez, Sofia Lopez, Avacery Lopez, Norma Lopez, Julia Lopez, Crispin Lopez, Jorge Lopez, Patricia Lopez and Mago Lopez; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.


Funeral services for Mr. Leonardo Lopez Martinez will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 7:00 PM- 10:00 Pm at Roberts Funeral Service, in Mocksville. Rosary service will be held at 11:00 AM at the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Mocksville. Interment will follow immediately at the Rose Cemetery in Mocksville.
