Lillie Mae Short Holly, 89, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, slipped away into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. She was born on June 25, 1933 to the union of Albert and Lillie Mae Short in High Point, North Carolina.
She was educated in the Guilford County Public Schools and attended William Penn High School in High Point, North Carolina. Lillie, a woman of wisdom and faith, accepted Christ as her Savior at Union Chapel Baptist Church. She worked various jobs in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and was last employed at Winston-Salem State University.
In her leisure time she enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She was a member of Post 220 Sergeant of Arms.
Lillie Mae Short was united in holy matrimony with Thomas Alonzo Holly, Sr. in High Point and their union was blessed with six children.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Corneila Ann Holly White.
Lillie's memory will live on within the hearts of her five sons: Farndrill Holly (Gwendolyn), Thomas Holly, Jr. (Willie), Timothy Holly (Alice), Carlton Holly and Anthony Holly; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 12:30 P.M Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem) with family moments of sharing at 12:00 P.M. prior to the hour of service. Interment will follow in the serenity of Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Facial coverings and/or masks are required for the services.
