We thank our Heavenly Father for blessing our lives with an amazing woman, Margaret Buggs, who was born on February 7, 1947 in McCormick, South Carolina. She was reared in a loving home by her parents, Will Buggs, Sr. and Mary Alice Richards Buggs. Margaret transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, November 14, 2022. She had a caring smile, dancing eyes and a demeanor that made all who encountered her feel special and appreciated. Special she was to her family and friends. She will be missed dearly.
Margaret was a graduate of Dunbar High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina and furthered her studies by receiving her Master's Degree from North Carolina A & T University. She worked with the Davidson County Community Action Committee for many years and served as the Executive Director for the Lexington Housing Authority until her retirement.
A Believer, she was a member of Files Chapel Baptist Church, Lexington, North Carolina. Margaret was a faithful and dedicated Missionary and member of the Usher Board, serving as a past president, member of the senior choir and corporate board.
Never idle, involved, a community and civic-minded individual, Margaret was a charter member of the Lexington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; member of the NAACP, president of Tiny Tot Daycare Board of Directors and Banks Miller Post 255 Ladies Auxiliary.
Always 'on-the-go,' she was never too busy to spend time with family and friends. Never meeting a stranger, Margaret enjoyed traveling with her "Sorors" and just being blessed to be surrounded by good friends to share laughter with.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Will Buggs, Jr.
A legacy of love, adoration and fond memories will always be treasured by her son: Corey D. (Sophie) Buggs, Esquire; grandchild: Will D. Buggs; adopted grandchildren: Nasheed "Zia" Peoples and NaQuia "Bella" Wood; brothers, Alfonzo (Modestine) Richards and Calvin (Reverend Judy) Richards; uncle, Bobby (Mary Ann) Richards; special cousin, Patricia King; a devoted caregiver, Sandra McNeair; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
