Obituary

Margaret Carter passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 surrounded by her family at Brookstone Retirement Center.

She was born April 19, 1936 in Davidson County to William Simmons and Lilly Carter Simmons. She was a 1959 graduate of Dunbar High School and retired from Best Western Hotel. Sister Carter loved her church, Florida United Holy Church, and served on the usher board for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Anna Carter Wansley and her two brothers, Curtis Davis and William Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Tommie Lee Carter and Frances Davis and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday at Florida United Holy Church at 12 Noon with family visitation at 11:30am. Burial will follow at South Lexington City Cemetery. ­
