Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Chamber Holmes, 81, of E. 1st St., departed this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House.

She was born July 12, 1937 in Rowan County to Raymond Chambers and Mary Young Chambers. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sons, Albert Ray Holmes, Jr. and Adrian Randall Holmes and her siblings: James Samuel Carr, Jr., Otis Chambers, Nathaniel Carr, Namoi Carr Hyde and Vernon Carr.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory two sons, Aloysious Chambers and Anthony (Andrea) Holmes; two daughters, Alvratta Chambers and Cheryl (Mike) Knotts; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, John F. (Cookie) Carr, Jr., Joseph Alexander, Jr. and Robert (Yolanda) Alexander; a sister, Pearl Elizabeth Clawson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A service of remembrance will be Saturday at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church Village Drive with family visitation at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
