Obituary

Marion Lee Johnson, age 68, entered Eternal Rest on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at his residence in Woodleaf, North Carolina. Born February 29, 1956 in Davie County, North Carolina, Marion was the son of the late Henry and Minnie Rivers Johnson. When tomorrow comes and Marion is no longer with us, we will remember him with fondness and thanksgiving for all the shared memories, for the blessing he was to us and a life well-lived. We will not forget his kindness, generosity and loving demeanor.

"Mammy," as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Davie County, North Carolina public schools and graduated from Davie County High School, Mocksville, North Carolina. Marion served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was employed with Gene's Auto Sales.

Marion enjoyed every minute of his life and lived it to the fullest. When he wasn't maintaining his automobiles, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His most enjoyable moments were those spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Johnson, Sr.
Marion's memory will be cherished by his children: Boyd Johnson of Mocksville, North Carolina, Sherlyn Johnson of Cooleemee, North Carolina, Sharina Scott of Salisbury, North Carolina, Winson Scott of Yadkinville, North Carolina and LaShonda Johnson of Mocksville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; three brothers: Larry (Brenda) Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland, Randy (Teresa) Johnson and Terry S. Johnson, both of Mocksville, North Carolina; two sisters, Crystal Clement of Salisbury, North Carolina and Sherri (Brian) Diggs of Mocksville, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date where the family will be able to share stories and pictures of their beloved Marion "Mammy" Johnson.
