Obituary
Marvin Lewis Bush, Sr. was born July 5, 1939 in Elyria, OH to Rev. Arthur and Beulah Brown Bush. He departed this life on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his residence.
A private funeral service will be Saturday at Buncombe Baptist Church. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the funeral home.
Marvin was a member of Buncombe Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board. He worked at PPG Industries until he retired. He loved golf and he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marvin Lewis Bush Jr.; five sisters: Ella Relenfond, Mary Lou Taylor, Virgial Peoples, Sally Armstrong and Marilyn Williams and his father-in-law, Deacon James Hairston.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Willie Jean Hairston Bush; three daughters: Lakisha Hairston of Lexington, Barbara Hollis of Elyria, OH and Shelia Bush Lamb of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Joseph Bush and Sandy (Spank) Quinn of Atlanta, GA; a daughter-in-law, Shonna Bush of Raleigh, NC; three brothers; Clarence Bush of Elyria, OH, Rev. Richard Bush of Milwaukee, Wis. and Ronald Bush of Atlanta, GA; his mother-in-law, Nora Jean Hairston of Lexington, several grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
