Mary Alice Jones "Mrs. M"Williams departed this life on Friday, February 2 in her home in Lexington, North Carolina with her dedicated daughter and son-in-law at her side.

Mary was born on November 11, 1924 in Tignall, Georgia to Emma Herd Jones and Watson Jones, Jr.She moved to Lexington, NC in 1941 with her grandfather Willis Jones.Mary attended public school in Tignall, Georgia and graduated from Dunbar school on 4th Street in Lexington in 1945.She loved to sing, sew, garden and quilt.When Mary moved to Lexington, she became a member of Summer Hill Baptist Church which is now First Baptist Church Village Drive.

Mrs. M was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Williams, Sr., whom she was married to for 59 years; her parents, Watson Jones and Emma Jones; three sisters: Mozella Smith, Inez Henderson and Thelma Cade and six brothers: Norris, Joe, Watson, Jr., Tom, Robert and Claude Jones.

To cherish her memory are her devoted family and friends: son, Robert T. (Barbara) Williams, Jr.; daughter, Susan (Fred) Holt; brother, James (Shirley) Jones; two devoted grandchildren, Rosalind (Anthony) Jenkins and Lamont Holt; god-son, Ray (Portia) Henderson; two aunts, Francis Mack and Emma Graham; five great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Sam Smith; a special niece, Janice Miller; a devoted cousin, Emma Crump; two very devoted neighbors, Daphine (Lola) Matthews and Nandra (Mavis) Gant; three special friends: Vernice Lindsay, Blondine Rouse and Kate Wileyand a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Village Dr. with family visitation at 1:30. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. Public viewing will be Monday from 1:00-7:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
