Mary M. Thomas Jones, 80, passed away January 12, 2015 at Abbott's Creek Rehabilitation Nursing Center.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at Righteous Church of God in Midway with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Friday from 2:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Service in Winston-Salem.
She was born March 18, 1934 in Davidson County to the late Roby C. Thomas and Odalhia F. Thomas. She was employed as a chef in Chicago, Illinois and later relocated to Winston Salem, N.C. where she was employed at Zabo's. At an early age she attended Righteous Church of God. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Jones; her father, Roby C. Thomas and brother, James Andrew Thomas.
She is survived by a devoted family: her mother, Odalhia F. Thomas; a daughter, Elizabeth A. (Luther) Jones; three grandchildren: Tressy (Charles) Powell, Luther Jones Jr. and Sherry (DeNorris) Treadwell; one brother, Henry (Rachel) Thomas; three sisters: Bernice (John) Tuttle, Donnice (Clifton) Lindsay and Linda Smith; eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; two aunts, Ollie Tuttle and Lula Hayes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
