Mattie Pearl Jones Roberts, 102, formerly of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

She was born in Laurens County, SC to the late Coleman Jones and Mary Walker Jones on February 12, 1916. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Nebo Roberts; a son, Rev. Sidney Roberts; four brothers: Daniel, Hollis, Ulysses and Marcellus Jones and five sisters: Jessie J. Dalton, Sara J. Brown, Virginia J. Lanier, Annie J. Barnes and Pauline J. Hoover.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Artiville Roberts and Rev. Robert A. Roberts; three daughters: Edna E. Bell, Minnie R. Hudson and Dr. Sarah A. King; a brother, Joe (Bessie) Jones; two sisters, Elizabeth J. Jackson and Peggy J. Anderson and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday at 1:00pm at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell St, Salisbury, NC 28144. The remains will lie in state from 11:00am until the hour of service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
