Mattie Mae Little, 69, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on October 20, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. Known for her bright spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love, Mattie Mae touched every life she encountered. She was deeply devoted to her family, her church community, and her faith-always placing kindness, compassion, and service at the center of her life.
Mattie Mae found joy in gospel music and in lifting her voice in praise to the Lord. She loved sharing laughter, wisdom, and heartfelt conversations with those around her. Strong in her convictions, she spoke her mind with honesty and love, offering guidance, encouragement, and comfort whenever it was needed. Her warmth, sincerity, and big, loving heart will forever be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Nellie Thompson, and her siblings: Myrtle Cherry, Charles Thompson, Thomas Thompson, and Hanky Thompson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Lillian Thompson, and her brother, Elmo Thompson; her children, LaTasha Davis, Micheal Davis, and Keyanna Ward; her beloved grandchildren, DeQuan Jenkins, Dashawn Jenkins, Javeon Witherspoon, Jasmine Witherspoon, and Kewon Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends who were like family.
Mattie Mae leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, and joy-one that will continue to inspire and uplift her family and all who loved her. May her light continue to shine in the hearts she leaves behind.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Roberts Funeral Service Chapel (Winston-Salem) with visitation at 11:30 AM prior to the service. Public viewing will be prior to the service on Saturday.
