Michael Steve "Old Folk" Mobley departed this life at the age of 71 on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Hinkle Hospice House. He was born January 26, 1951 in Lexington, NC to Eddie Moore and Rosa Mae Mobley.
Michael was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Village Dr. where he sang on the choir. He was a stylish dresser and loved cooking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ramona Kay Cade and stepmother, Ella Mae Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 22 years, Cynthia Mobley of the home; his son, Andre (Teresa) Cade of Lenoir, NC; a daughter, Stephanie Peace of Lexington; two bonus daughters, Tiphany Jordan and Kima Jordan; a sister, Bonnie (Jimmy) Moore; a step brother, Vernon (Mary) English; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Faye (Jimmy) Peoples; an uncle, Kinston Oliver; four sisters-in-law: Rebecca Brooks, Mary Jordan, Shelia (George) Miller and Anita Jackson; three brothers-in-law: Frank Ross, John Jordan and Lewis Jordan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Dunbar Class of 1969.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church, Village Dr. with family visitation at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery. Public viewing will be Wednesday from 1:00PM -6:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Service.
