Our God is wise, God is faithful, and God is love. Friday morning, August 26, 2022, Our Savior, in his infinite wisdom, called Mildred Veatrice Reid to eternal rest. It saddens us to say farewell to our dear Veatrice, but we are comforted in knowing that she is in God's Hands and she is soaring with the Angels. Mildred was born October 29, 1947 in Davidson County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Ceaford Reid and Mildred Louis Howard Reid. She was caring, thoughtful and generous to family and friends. She is gone from sight, but never from our memory, gone from touch, but her warmth will never be forgotten, and she will live always in our hearts.
Veatrice, as most called her, was a graduate of Dunbar High School class of 1966 and attended North Carolina Central University. She was employed with Lexington Telephone Company for over 20 years.
A believer, Veatrice accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Good Hope and Zion Tabernacle F.B.H. Church until her health began to decline. You could find her singing on the choir, ushering and serving on many other organizations in the church. She was an ordained minister for over 40 years. She didn't mind telling you about the goodness of the Lord. She was a true ambassador for Christ, who loved to praised the Lord.
Veatrice was welcomed to her eternal home by her parents; two sisters, Brenda Reid and Sheila Mason; and a brother, Howard Kent Reid.
Our family and friends were incredibly blessed to have shared a beautiful life; she had no children of her own but she loved her nieces, nephews and other family members. Veatrice's memory will be treasured by her devoted brother, Anthony (Gloria) Reid of Lexington; a niece, Constance (Eric) Foushee; five nephews: William Kenneth (Ta'Sheena) Mason, Marquis (Julie) Mason, Trenton Reid, Treyton Reid and Trevor Reid; seven great nieces: Ava Foushee, Olivia Foushee, Isabella Foushee, Aria Mason, SaNaa Mason, Nia Mason and Ameliah Mason; a great nephew, Noah Mason; an aunt, Corrina "Dolly" Reid; two dear friends, Carol McCandies and Elizabeth Crump and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will be at the home of the brother on Peace Haven Dr. Lexington, NC 27292.
