Monya Michelle Anderson was born April 29, 1967 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Luther David Anderson and Patricia Ann Powers Anderson. Michelle passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Village Drive. Monya loved her family and her granddaughters. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, reading and decorating.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt, Veronica Powers Hedrick.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Lechelle Anderson and Trinton McGriff; two grandchildren, Winter Anderson and Leilan McGriff; significant other, Lamont Holt; five sisters: Gloria Darlene Anderson (Donald Smith), Valerie Anderson, Patrice Anderson, Lanae Anderson and Tamera Anderson; an aunt, Linda Lewis; an uncle, Ronald (Natalie) Powers; two close family friends, Arielle Gainey and Carolyn Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday at First Baptist Church, Village Drive at 1:00pm with family visitation at 12:30pm. Public viewing will be Friday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Roberts Funeral Service.
