Morris Elam, 70, of Kindley Street, Lexington, NC, departed his Earthly body and gained his wings on February 4, 2022.


He was born March 7, 1951 in Lincolnton County, GA to John Elam, Jr. and Lois Bohler Elam. He received his education in Lincoln County Schools. He retired from Mannington Tile. He was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church.


Morris was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Jenkins, Obie, Larry and Major Elam and one sister, Margaret Ellis.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ruth Elam; three sons: Marvis Elam, Norris (Donna Ivey) Elam and Terrill Elam; a daughter, Crystal Elam; 10 grandchildren; brothers: Rickey (Barbara) Elam, Tracy (Lisa) Elam and Johnny Elam; sisters: LaVurn Elam, Alma Crite and Jennifer Elam Walker; mother-in-law, Mary Deese and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, in-laws, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church at 1:00pm with family visitation at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
