Obituary
Nannie White Owens, 72, of Smith Ave., passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her residence.
She was born November 25, 1949 in Chatham, Virginia to the late Sam White and Hazel Bennett White. She retired from Charles England Elementary School. Nannie was a member of Union Chapel AME Zion Church and a member of Banks Miller Post 255 Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Charlie Sam White, Joseph E. White and Willie A. White; two brother-in-law, Jarvis Owens and Fletcher S. Owens, Sr. and a sister-in-law, Constance Loretta Owens Louya.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Benny Owens of the home; two sons, Lymond White and Charles A. Owens; a daughter, Hazel G. (Donnie) White-Greggs; a granddaughter, Breyanna G. Ellis; two brothers, Percy (Audrey) White, Sr. and Doug (Joyce) White; four sisters: Metha Fortune, Clarissa Woodberry, Louise White and Marian White; a brother-in-law, Robert Owens; two sisters-in-law, Rita Reaves and Venesta Owens, a devoted niece, Tammie Archer and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be Saturday in the Craven~Powell Chapel of Roberts Funeral Service at 1:00pm.
